This all starts with purchasing #1 choice slabs that are from the same block and book matched. If you thought all slab producers and fabricators were created equal then please talk to us first before having your countertops made. Remember, there is a difference between custom and commercial ( builder grade ) work. Talk to us so that we may inform you of the difference.

Please read the following

This site is more about consumer education, anyone can post lots of pictures but pictures don't show the attention to details or deficencies. Pictures don't tell the story about chippy seams or chippy edges or bad seam matching.. It is only after your installer has left that you really start to take a close look at your countertops and start to notice bad craftsmanship.

Here are some red flags to look out for.

If your fabricator shows up at your home to do a template with a tape measure and a note pad and pen and plans on drawing your countertop sizes. Ask them how will they calculate angles at the corners and ensure your overhangs will be consistant?

Just gives you a square foot price. This is usually a base price and is used to get you in the door. there are many facets to fabricating a countertop and everyone has different charges for those. For example, you and your neighbour may both have 50 sqft of countertop but you have selected undermount sinks and they drop-in sinks, you may have a raised bar which means more edge work needs to be done, your home may have easy access and your neighbour 15 stairs which may require more people to get the pieces installed. All of these little things cost money, therefore sqft pricing alone does not tell you what your final price will be.

Will your fabricator double check his final template and site inspection details against his estimate and forewarn you of any price changes before starting your project or will you get a call after they start processing asking for more money?

Is your estimate a hand written document on a napkin or piece of paper or is it a clearly define document that explains the company's terms and conditions and payment schedule?

Has your fabricator offered you a cash deal with no paperwork?

Have you seen the slabs you will be getting or a generic picture or sample? many shops do not have inventory for you to view.

These are just some of the traps used to draw you in. Just keep in mind, once the material is cut it is yours and there are no refunds once material is cut so make sure for your protection you know exactly where your responsibilities start and stop and your fabricators start and stop, otherwise you will be faced with a massive headache because you did not get what you thought you were getting.

Come and talk to us, we will tell you exactly what we do and how we will do it and if needed you will be allowed into our fabrication plant and talk to the people that will do your work so you know exactly what you are getting. There is no other way.
