Unlike Quartz, natural stone does have different degrees of porosity depending on the different mineral contents and therefore a good sealer is recommended at least once every 2-3 years depending on usage and cleaning methods.
 Despite what you may have heard or been told when comparing Granite to Quartz, Granite is extremely durable and can withstand very high temperatures and is very resistant to scratching and staining and like Quartz  surfaces is very food safe. See link below.

Marbles, Limestones and Travertines are also very popular stone types but they too have their purpose. These products have been used in the Middle East and Europe for Centuries and  are also fine for counters. However because they are calcite they are softer and scratch easier than Granite or Quartz and will take a stain faster. Also if you have ordered these stones polished be careful not to spill anything acidic on them as they will etch, which is why many people order these stones honed.

In the report it mentions for extra protection use a vinegar water mixture, we recommend a mild anti bacterial soap and water mixture especially on Marbles as vinegar will etch Marbles.
